Information

The American Pontiac Association was founded in late 1979 by Kirk Robinson, Mike Anawaty, and Ken Moreno of Houston.  Originally known as the South Texas Pontiac Club, its function is to cater to Pontiac enthusiasts and aid in the restoration, preservation, and appreciation of Pontiac automobiles.
The club is non-profit and family oriented.  Throughout the year club activities include monthly meetings, monthly "cruise" nights, joint participation in activities of other clubs, a bi-annual A.P.A. car show, major involvement in the Houston Autorama, various other club activities, and an annual awards banquet.  Meetings are held on the first Tuesday night of each month at the Hickory Hollow Restaurant, at Heights Boulevard and Center Street in Houston.  Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.  Club dues are $24.00 per year.

About Making Us A Trusted Site

APA WEBLOG

are database driven sections of our website

they allow us to serve the community better by being interactive , meaning you control the content . That is unless your security settings are preventing you from acessing the page fully .

A bad way to deal with this is to remove all security from your computer , a good way to deal with this is to make the pages listed above a trusted site in your browser . Check out this great article on WEBHERO.ORG .

The "Trusted Sites" settings are a wonderful concept!  This allows you to selectively indicate which web sites are to be "trusted", meaning they can run at a low security level.  It's great as it gives you complete control over security!

First, get the URL of the site to trust.  For example, " http://www.apahouston.com/press/ ".  Next, Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options".  Click on the "Security" tab.

Click on the green circle with a white check marked "Trusted Sites".   In the space provided, enter the URL of the site (you'll probably want to uncheck the box requiring SSL, which is a high-security link, for all sites).  Click the "Add" button.  Continue entering sites until you have them all entered, then click OK as needed. If you find another trusted site later, simply go back to this menu item and enter the data.

What this allows you to do is, for example, restrict your normal internet surfing to medium security which is fairly restrictive, but allows the good stuff to run on sites that you know are safe. The entry is a little tedious but it is certainly worth the trouble.
